Over €200,000 in insurance payouts were made last year due to claims made against Leitrim County Council.
A further €10,000 was paid out in the first three months of this year.
Claims against local authorites are paid by their insurers, Irish Public Bodies.
New figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, show 25 public-liability claims were settled on behalf of Leitrim County Council last year.
They amounted to a total of 200,348 euro - an average of over €8,000 per claim.
Eight motor claims were settled at a cost of €6,265.
A very significant amount of claims related to footpath, slips and trips - amounting to over €197,000 last year.
Over €3,000 was paid out as a result of 5 pothole damage claims.
