An Bord Pleanala refused claims that the homes would give rise to significant environmental effects.

Leitrim County Council will not have to prepare an environmental assessment report as part of plans for ten new homes in Ballinamore.

An Bord Pleanala has ruled in favour of the local authority following an appeal linked to the project in Lahard.

The Council published a part eight planning application in January and a local resident adjacent to the development subsequently contacted the Planning Inspectorate over concerns they had regarding the project.

An Bord Pleanala inspectors determined that the project did not require a special Environmental Impact Assessment Report to be prepared by the local authority and the project could go ahead as planned.
