A Leitrim Councillor has said he's disappointed fellow members didn't support his call for more funds for social housing.
Cllr Des Guckian raised a motion at this month's meeting urging the local authority to seek Government funding to address the issue.
He also claimed the idea of Choice Based Letting didn't work and called for it to be abandoned.

Choice Based Letting is a system whereby available social housing is let by being openly advertised to qualified households.
This claim was refuted by a number of Cllr Guckian's colleagues in the chamber.
Speaking to Shannonside News, the Independent Councillor accused his colleagues of not appreciating the true extent of the housing crisis in Leitrim:
