A Leitrim Councillor is calling for traffic calming measures and signage to be erected at a number of locations across the county.
Councillor Paddy Farrell raised the issue at this month's meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon M.D.
He believes the council must examine ways to slow traffic on the R299 in Kiltoghert as well as erecting more speed and safety signage on the L-3409 and L-3410 from Church Park to Kilnagross.
In response, Council officials say they are not in a position to install calming measures and advise that Gardai be notified of speeding offences in these areas.
However, Councillor Farrell says locals are worried about the risk when travelling on these roads.
