A Leitrim Councillor is renewing his call for the HSE to re-instate day care services in Mohill.
Sean McGowan says the service provided at Arus Carolan was withdrawn at the start of the pandemic and has yet to return.
Those wishing to avail of daily activities have been travelling to the Primary Care Centre in Ballinamore, a 30km round trip.
Councillor McGowan fears the HSE will close the service and he's now calling on local HSE management to attend the next Carrick-on-Shannon MD meeting to address these concerns.
"They were using the excuse that with COVID they couldn't attend any meetings. I'm just calling on the manager to come berore a meeting and explain the rationale why the day care services were withdrawn in Mohill and what's needed to reinstate them. I'm reliably informed that Ballinamore has more than enough people in their own area availing of the services, that there isn't capacity to take people who were attending Mohill".
