A Leitrim councillor is criticising the lack of pre-planning by the HSE in relation to the Civil Registration Service in the county.
The Registration office beside the HSE offices in Carrick-on-Shannon has been closed since the 20th of last month and people are being asked to call the Sligo office instead.
The office would normally allow people to register births, deaths, and marriages and Councillor Brendan Barry says it's not good enough that people are having to travel out of the county to access the service.
The Sinn Fein councillor says he's been told that the closure is temporary and that the office will re-open in the coming weeks.
He says the lack of forward planning by the HSE is disappointing.
