A Leitrim Councillor says the HSE has yet to give a clear commitment over the NoWDOC Service in Carrick on Shannon.
Brendan Barry says a review of the out of hours service is currently underway and he believes there should be no reduction in opening times or operations.
He fears there could be a reduction in the number of GP's based in Leitrim during the hours of 12 midnight and 8am, forcing some locals to travel to Sligo.
At a meeting of Leitrim Council last month the Sinn Fein representative called on the HSE to respond to local concerns however he says a reply sent to the council this week is too general.
'The possibility is that there could be a doctor in Carrick on Shannon from six o' clock in the evening until 12 o' clock at night.
But after 12 o' clock then , that it'd switch over to the Care Doc building in Sligo .
The letter that we got back was very vague, about enhancing services and things like that, but i suppose the main concern is that there will be a reduction in services and I'm looking for a commitment that there won't be , and they didn't give that commitment so they talked around in circles I suppose, and they didn't give it'
