Leitrim councillor Enda Stenson says the BBC may be a good media partner for the sporting organisation after the Sky Sports deal ended.
The councillor, who's also Chairman of Leitrim GAA, says he wasn't sorry to see an end to the Sky deal because he felt it showed only a very small percentage of who and what the GAA was about.
He says his personal opinion is that the GAA now have their streaming service and the GAA go app to cover games at all levels and it's been proving a major success.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show today Enda Stenson says he believes some kind of deal with the BBC might be a good thing because they already cover the games in Ulster and have been doing a good job.
He also says though that the systems the GAA has in place countrywide will ensure that the games are covered adequately
"The BBC would be an ideal partner but we have have our own facilities, every county has their own facilities now to show their games. The Sky deal was built towards a section, 2% of GAA players were in that category. We're talking a whole plethora of GAA players who go out weekend after weekend. We want them covered. At the moment we are covering them with our own livestreams and Gaago.ie. Without our club games, without our local people being covered, we'd have no GAA at all".
