A Leitrim Councillor fears the anticipated delivery of social housing in the county doesn't full fill people's needs.
The local authority hopes to construct 57 units before the end of 2023 with 29 of those expected to be completed by December of this year.
27 houses are to be located in the Ballinamore Municipal District with a further 17 and 13 in the Carrick on Shannon and Manorhamilton local electoral areas.
However, Councillor Finola Armstrong Maguire believes there's a need for additional social houses in the county town.
She says many people are struggling to pay rents and more units must be planned for.
'With the numbers coming to me I am very anxious that we may not be able to fulfill the needs of the people.
We will have the county developments plan , and particularly our Carrick area development plan, and we will have to look at sites that are possibly available for social housing.
Of course we also want the housing to commence again, that the estate will commence again and that we will have 3 and 4 bedroom houses available for people to buy.'
