Leitrim county councillors must use their position in the community to encourage the public to avail of covid 19 vaccines.
That's according to County Cathaoirleach Paddy O Rourke, who at this month's meeting of the council, voiced concern over the worsening Covid situation.
Councillor O'Rourke urged his council colleagues to do their part in helping their constituents understand the importance of the vaccine and the continued adherence to pubic health measures.
The Ballinamore representative says with the recent jump in virus numbers, we're not out of the woods yet.
