Leitrim councillor wants HSE to consider Ballinamore ambulance base

It comes after a 73-year-old man in Ballinamore was forced to wait two hours for an ambulance last month.

A Leitrim Councillor has proposed the HSE investigate the feasibility of establishing an ambulance base at Ballinamore Nursing Unit and the Primary Care Centre. Fianna Fáil Councillor Gary Prior brought a motion forward to last Monday's Leitrim County Council meeting.

His call comes after a 73-year-old man in Ballinamore was forced to wait two hours for an ambulance last month. Cllr Prior says there needs there needs to be greater efficiency in the local ambulance service:
