Leitrim County Council has made several applications to the OPW to carry out works to repair some of the damage caused by flash flooding in Ballinaglera earlier this year.
The local pub in the village as well as some private residents were badly affected by the 'cloudburst' that saw a significant deluge of rain in just over two hours.
The September meeting of the Ballinamore M.D was told that the local authority has applied to the Office of Public Works to carry out repair works to bridges and existing barriers damaged in the floods.
It's hoped that the OPW will be able to approve funding before the end of the year and local Councillor Gerry Dolan is calling for the works to be carried out so farmers can get back to the land before the end of the spring.
