A Leitrim Councillor is calling for additional traffic calming measures in Dromod.
The issue was raised at this month's meeting of Carrick-On-Shannon MD where Councillor Sean McGowan stated traffic passes through the village at excessive speed.
However, in a statement, Leitrim County Council says there's currently ample signage on both approaches to the village and if a motorist ignores that signage, then the Garda should be informed to enforce the clearly defined speed limits.
The Dromod native hopes a scheme can be put in place to ensure speed measures are put in place sooner rather than later.
