Leitrim County Council will deliver 63 social housing units in the county over the next two years.
The local authority units will include new builds and purchased turn key homes.
Environmental Protection Agency guidelines means that planning for once off rural housing in Leitrim is difficult to obtain.
With a large portion of land in Leitrim not meeting EPA standards in relation to drainage and effluent treatment, housing supply in the county is at an all time low.
Just 63 homes are planned in the county over the next 2 years, with 17 of these planned in both Carrick On Shannon and Manorhamilton.
Ballinamore is to see the next largest allocation, with 14 social housing units planned for delivery.
In Drumshanbo, Leitrim County Council aim to construct or deliver 5 social houses.
While Drumsna and Dromahair are targeted to see four units apiece over the next 24 months.
Kiltyclogher in North Leitrim will receive just 2 social homes over the coming two years.
Addressing this month's meeting of Leitrim County Council, the local authority stated that it will be difficult to ascertain if the delivery will meet future demand.
However they stated they have been able to reduce the housing waiting list over the last number of years through utilizing different delivery streams.
