Leitrim County Council is working with the IDA to secure investment for a major Carrick on Shannon business campus that's gone on the market.
The former MBNA site, which is over 112,000 square feet and once employed over 1,000 people is now available to purchase for an estimated 6.6 million euro.
In recent years Avant Money operates out of the imposing building just outside the town centre, where dozens of people are employed at their call centre.
The building is being sold by Digital Officer Centre Group, who purchased it in 2016, with the local authority prioritising the facility as a source of job creation.
Local Councillor Enda Stenson says it's vital that the right buyer is found and the building doesn't fall vacant.
Speaking at this week's meeting of Leitrim County Council, he says the building should be used for the good of the county:
