A Leitrim disability support centre has received high marks from HIQA inspectors according to a report released this week.
HIQA's latest report follows an unannounced inspection of Sunbeam Lodge Community Group Home.
Sunbeam Lodge Community Group Home is a unit under the North West Parents and Friends Association, situated in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The lodge provides full-time accommodation to female adults with a moderate to profound intellectual disability and a range of high support needs.
The centre comprises of three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, utility room, dining room and sitting room.
Upon arriving at the centre, inspectors noted that interactions between the residents and the staff on duty were kind, caring and respectful.
Inspectors were shown residents' bedrooms, which were observed to be comfortable and personally decorated.
Residents were also seen enjoying activities offered by the centre, such as music therapy sessions.
Staff had a functional and planned working roster, and a skill mix of staff was found to meet with the assessed needs of the residents.
The centre received eight full compliances, only three substantial compliances, and no non-compliances.
