A Leitrim manufacturing firm is welcoming news that Government will consider using modular homes to house Ukrainian refugees.
Under new proposals, the OPW will identify vacant sites for the development of the quick build homes.
Managing Director of Aeropods Kevin Regan believes it's a faster and more cost efficient solution than refurbishing vacant properties.
The Manorhamilton based company which has its workshop in Croghan in Roscommon has already provided its pod to a school in the Northwest to accommodate additional pupils from Ukraine.
Kevin says the homes can be placed on a site almost immediately and once the refugees wish to return to Ukraine the modular builds can be moved to another location or sold by the Government.
