Fundraising efforts are underway in Keshcarrigan to develop the old Garda Barracks into a new Community Centre. The building dates back to the 1800s and served as a RUC Barracks where it changed to a Garda station on the formation of the state. The Barracks was closed in 2013 and locals have been maintaining the building since.
Its hoped that the centre could host meeting rooms, remote working hubs, play areas and a museum and interpretive centre. Local man Paddy McGreevy says they are hoping to raise match funding to secure government grants:
