Over 155 drug searches have been carried out across County Leitrim so far in 2022.
The figures were revealed by Chief Superintendent Aidan Glackin at a meeting of the Joint Policing Committee on Monday.
124,000 euro worth of drugs have been seized in Leitrim in the first three quarters of the year with a small amount of cash also confiscated during these searches.
The meeting heard detections for the possession of drugs for sale or supply were up by 22 percent in the last year.
Superintendent Chris Grogan told the meeting that the Gardaí were committed in the fight against drugs and he encouraged anyone who knows of an issue in their area to report it to the authorities.
