A new special information event is being rolled out by Leitrim Gardai this week.
Parents are being encouraged to take part in the discussion which is being organised by the Community Policing Unit, Foroige and Youth Liaison Service.
The meeting will travel around the county beginning this evening in Mohill community college at 8pm, tomorrow in Carrigallen Vocational School and Ballinamore Community School on Thursday.
Garda Declan Conwayfrom the Community Policing Unit says a range of topics will be discussed from the world of social media to common youth offences.
The event will also give parents the opportunity to ask Gardai any questions they may have.
Garda Conway says a lot of information useful to parents will be available at the events.
'Broadly the topics that will be discussed will be social media, online safety for parents, how to be aware to monitor what their child is looking at, information in relation to drug and alcohol use and information then in relation to offences that young people would commit.
So it kinda just explains to parents what's involved in relation to a scenario where a young person can get sidetracked with various bits and pieces.'
