New figures reveal Leitrim has the lowest proportion of A rated homes in the country.
The research carried out by the CSO highlight just two percent have the highest possible rating from the Sustainable Energy Authority.
Meanwhile just three per cent of houses in Longford have an A rating, that's followed by Roscommon on four.
The highest are in the east of the country with Kildare and Meath reaching almost 20 per cent.
The CSO say that no home with a BER constructed since 2020 installed an oil boiler for the house - that compares with more than a third built 20 years ago
