A Leitrim Leaving Cert student is adding her voice to the appeal for students to be given the options of predicted grades or sitting an actual Leaving Cert exam.
Elsie Harman who is a 6th-year student at Carrick-on-Shannon Community School says she and most other students are hugely relieved by the government's u-turn on calling Leaving Cert students back to school for a three-day week, but there are still issues to be addressed.
The Leitrim student says she and her peers feel their voices haven't been heard very much since the whole disruption of their education began back in March of last year, and the issue of the state exam is still causing major stress for young people.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show today, Elsie says she would like to see students being given the options of predicted grades or sitting an exam as outlined in a petition which has already been signed by over 23, 000 nationwide.
