A Leitrim man has been left scratching his head after a bizarre experience at his home last night.
John lives in a remote area between Carrigallen and Ballyconnell and says when he stepped out of his house just before going to bed last night he spotted a number of lights in the fields around.
He says the lights seemed to be orbiting around three large translucent objects of some kind in the sky but there was no sound coming from them.
The Leitrim man says he watched the spectacle for over an hour between midnight and twenty past one , and tried unsuccessfully to take pictures with his camera.
He says he knows most people won't believe him, but he'd like to know if anyone else noticed anything strange in the area last night.
There was no sound, there was no beacon lights, there was no flashin' lights...it was just moving nice and quietly and peacefully...
I could see there was other lights starting to sort-of materialise around and about ...
This light seemed to have a big structure in it, just in my left hand field of vision then there was a big flash of light , and I looked around there and there could have been maybe 25 or 30 different lights that were sort of orbiting round and flying around,
If somebody had told me this story I'd say they were on the sauce last night but I know it wasn't the case.
