The Dáil has heard people in Leitrim will have to wait six months for a driving test if they apply for one today.
Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny says the backlog is the longest it has ever been.
He says there are 72,000 people around the country waiting to take the exam - with waiting times of eight months in some areas.

The Sligo-Leitrim deputy is calling for the government to urgently address the issue.
