County Planners have approved the construction of two new telecom masts in South Leitrim.
On Tower Ireland Limited had applied to Leitrim County Council for the removal of an existing 30 metre lattice antennae and it's replacement with a new 33 metres lattice antennae support structure at Dromore in Carrick on Shannon.
The new structure will include antennae, remote radio units, dishes, cable ladder and gantry poles, with the mast providing for highspeed wireless data and broadband services.
Elsewhere, Vantage Towers Limited were successful in there application for the construction of an 18 metre high mast in Cloone, Co. Leitrim.
That development was the subject of a number of submissions objecting to it's location and the effect it could have on the area.
