A Leitrim publican has criticised the Government for the timing of their restriction announcements.
It comes as the Taoiseach is set to address the nation this evening on new guidelines recommended by NPHET.
This includes a new closing time of 5pm for the hospitality sector.
Derek Hunt from the Copper Still in Drumod is branding Government announcements after 6 o'clock as ridiculous and feels it does not give people enough time to prepare or cancel stock orders.
The Leitrim native is now left in limbo with the possibility of having to abandon evening bookings next week.
He says some deliveries are expected tomorrow and as a result of the Taoiseach's late timing he may not be able to cancel before they arrive:
"Because the Taoiseach isn't telling us until 6pm this evening, which is an hour after business hours, we can't ring Heineken and say 'halve that order, we need to adjust it some way'."
"We need to let that lorry come just in case he is going to say we can open until 9 or 10pm at night."
"So yet again these... telling us at 6pm on a Friday evening what's happening is a bit of a joke like."
