Longford and Leitrim have some of the highest levels of Covid-19 transmission in the country according to new data from HSE.
Roscommon, however is currently recording the lowest levels nationwide.
The updated figures from the Health Protection and Surveillance Centre show over 1,500 new cases of the virus in the region in the last week.
Louth and Westmeath are at the top of the list according to the HPSC data, with 1,200 and 825 new cases in each county respectively over the last 7 days.
293 new Covid cases in the last week and a five day moving case average of 49 have put Longford as the 4th worst in the nation for Covid infection.
That's followed closely by Leitrim where there have been 224 confirmed cases of the virus within the previous week resulting in a 7 day incidence rate of 699.
Roscommon however currently stands at the bottom of the table with the countries lowest numbers when compared with population density.
272 confirmed cases has led to a 7 day incidence rate of 421, significantly below the national average of 603.
