Letirim has recorded the highest rent increase in the country in the last year.
That’s according to the latest report from DAFT.ie which shows the cost of leasing a property in the county has risen by 21.3% since 2021.
While Leitrim has seen the biggest hike when it comes to rent increases, the cost of leasing a property is on the lower end of the scale at 843 euro.
Longford rents have the next highest increase at 19.9%, where the costs average at 975 euro.
In the last year the price of leasing in Roscommon has jumped by 18.1% to an average of 980 euro.
While rents in Westmeath are up 13.4% at 1,269 euro.
In the Northern Sound region Cavan’s rental prices have risen by 18.3% to 1,012 euro while Monaghan recorded a hike of 16.7% at 981.
The report finds that Housing stock for the rental market is at an all-time low with lease prices seeing an average nationwide hike of 12.6%.
