A primary school in Leitrim is calling for urgent action to upgrade their campus.
With an ever increasing number of pupils attending Scoil Mhuire in Carrick on Shannon, overcrowding is a major issue.
The school says 6 current classrooms are sub-standard and traffic congestion caused by children being dropped off is having a detrimental effect.
A technical report carried out by the Department of Education and Skills also showed the school is not fit for purpose.
Principal of Scoil Mhuire, Caroline Healy says a new school is not simply a want, but a need.
