With the deadline now passed, only three Sligo people have been nominated to contest the Sligo-Leitrim selection convention - Keith Henry and councillors Edel McSharry and Paul Taylor.

Leitrim is set to have no Fianna Fáil candidate in the next general election. With the deadline now passed, only three Sligo people have been nominated to contest the Sligo-Leitrim selection convention - Keith Henry and councillors Edel McSharry and Paul Taylor.

Sligo TD Marc MacSharry won a seat for the party in 2020, but he's now an Independent and isn't running in the next election. Carrick-on-Shannon man Fintan Cox, a former local elections candidate for Fianna Fáil, says the line-up is bad news for Leitrim:
