A Leitrim Social Farming initiative supporting refugees to grow their own produce has been praised by the Ukrainian Ambassador.
Larysa Gerasko was in Drumshanbo this weekend to meet with the local Ukrainian Community.
Families who have been forced to flee the conflict and temporarily settled in Leitrim have taken part in the existing social farming project run in the county.
Social Farming offers people who are socially, physically, mentally or intellectually disadvantaged the opportunity to spend time on a family farm in a healthy, supportive and inclusive environment.
The Ambassador was also introduced to other social inclusion projects benefitting refugees underway on behalf of the Leitrim Development Company.
