A Leitrim woman has been appointed to the National Dairy Council as Farmer Advocacy Manager.
Majella McCaffertyy is from Kiltyclogher in Leitrim and qualified as a Veterinary nurse specialising in large animals in 2015, as well as winning Veterinary Nurse student of the year.
She has worked with Lakeland Dairies advising farmers how to manage their businesses more efficiently, and on animal breeding and health.
Her most recent role was with the Aurivo Co-op as Farm Profitability Specialist.
The Leitrim woman has worked with the Dairy Council previously in helping different farms qualify and succeed in milk quality awards.
