Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents of theft from motor vehicles that occurred yesterday in the Dromod area.

Fianna Fáil councillor Paddy Farrell raised the motion at Monday's monthly meeting of Leitrim County Council.

According to the report, Leitrim and Westmeath have the highest proportion of beds contracted to the Government in the region.
