Leo Varadkar is to set take over the Taoiseach's office this afternoon.
The Fine Gael leader had a majority of the Dáil vote for him - with 87 votes to 62.
In his acceptance speech Varadkar will mention building on the work of his immediate predecessor and soon to be Tánaiste Micheál Martin - particularly when it comes to housing which will be the defining issue for the next term of Government.
He'll now travel to the Aras to meet President Michael D Higgins and get his seal of office, before returning to Government Buildings to begin reforming the Cabinet.
