Longford Ladies Gaelic Football Captain Caoimhe McCormack alongside Vice-Captain Niamh Brady will cut the ribbon on Thursday the 8th of August.

Plans call for the replacement of the old store with a much larger building, comprising of a supermarket and off licence extending into the neighbouring former fuel depot.

The development would see the demolition of the existing single storey former school building and the construction of a single storey discount food store.

Lidl Longford will shut at 6pm this Saturday but the retailer says this won't affect jobs at the site.
