Life-sized statue to be unveiled in memory of popular Roscommon priest

Fr Ray, as he was known to parishioners, played a leading role in the development of Kilbride Community Centre as well as other local facilities.

A life-sized statue will be unveiled in memory of a much-loved former priest in Roscommon this Sunday.
The community of Kilbride are expected to come out in force to pay tribute to Fr Raymond Browne, who passed away in November 2020.
Fr Ray, as he was known to parishioners, played a leading role in the development of Kilbride Community Centre as well as other local facilities.
The marble statue and memorial benches, produced by Feelystone Boyle, will be unveiled and blessed after 12 pm Mass in St Brigid’s Church Fourmilehouse.

Members of the Fr Raymond Browne Memorial Committee have set up an i-donate fundraiser with proceeds going towards the costs of the statue.
Speaking to Shannonside News, committee member Timmy Donnelly said it was quite apt that the unveiling takes place on Our Lady's Birthday:
