John Reynolds who has run the local shop in Arigna for the past several decades is set to retire this month.
John began work at 14 years of age and then leased the foodstore adjoining Flynn's bar before setting up on his own just before the local mine closed in 1989.
He's worked an 80 hour week for most of his life but cut that down to 60 after a health scare in 2015.
John admits that modern technology is one of the reasons that he's retiring right now and says he will miss the business which has been such a major part of his life.
He spoke to Anne Norris on the Lets Talk show this week.
