The ESB doesn’t expect over 1,000 customers in Edgeworthstown to have supply restored until tomorrow week.

There are calls for people to be put up in hotels if they’re left a long time without electricity.

Thousands of homes and businesses won’t have power back for several days, due to Storm Eowyn. The ESB doesn’t expect over 1,000 customers in Edgeworthstown to have supply restored until tomorrow week. And 872 customers near Ballyhaunis, close to the Roscommon/Mayo, will have to wait until Wednesday week.

The Green Party’s Leslie O’Hora, from Carrick-on-Shannon, says overnight accommodation should be provided in cases like these.
