A sea of green, white and gold can be seen in Castlerea this afternoon as the town gets ready to welcome home their very own World gold medalist.
Preparations are now underway in Castlerea for a spectacular homecoming event for World Champion Lisa O'Rourke.
The mother of Ireland's latest world boxing champion says the success she has enjoyed this week is just "phenomenal"
Well wishes continue to flood in for Lisa O Rourke and Ann O'Rourke told the Joe Finnegan show she is bursting with pride after Lisa's success:
"It is very exciting so it is it's unreal. When we were talking to her last it hasn't really sunk in yet will take a while for her you know, she's only 20. But it's just phenomenal and between herself and Aoife they have brought great joy here to this house, with all their wins over the last few years and it's just phenomenal."
It's expected the Tarmon native will arrive in the town around 8pm tomorrow evening.
Her sister Aoife will also join in the celebrations following her European success earlier this year.
The sibling duo will travel through the town before stopping at the Square.
Locals in West Roscommon are immensely proud of their new world champion.
Students at Lisa's former school in Tarmon are hoping to catch a glimpse of the gold medal and they say they are excited to see what the future holds for the 20-year-old.
Tommy Stenson went out and about in Castlrea today to chat to locals as well as her former school principal about her wonderful success, and how she might be the reason for no homework this weekend too:
