LISTEN: Clinic suffers up to €50,000 in damage in Longford fire - which isn't covered by insurance

A clinic that suffered up to €50,000 in damage in the Longford town blaze is not covered by fire insurance.

Alpha Medical Clinic is one of 13 businesses in Grafton Court that was forced to close because of the blaze last Sunday week.

It was set up by Dr Roumaissa Slami three years ago, and she spent around €50,000 on upgrading the premises.

Dr Slami says the damage will not be covered by insurance because she didn’t have contents or fire cover.

She has been speaking to our reporter Eoghan Murphy about the issue.
