West Roscommon councillor Anthony Waldron has died.
He was found dead at his home in Ballintubber this morning, and it's believed he died of natural causes.
He was aged in his 60s.
He has been a long-serving and respected councillor, first serving on the council between 2004 and 2009, for Fianna Fáil.
He returned to political life in 2019, when he won a seat in the Castlerea Local Electoral Area as an Independent, and retained his seat last June.
