Kathleen Reynolds has been remembered as a woman of great faith and constant support to her husband.
Her private funeral mass in Dublin today has heard that her children could not have had a better mother and her life revolved around family, friends and faith.
Fr Brian D'arcy speaking about the late Kathleen Reynolds, at her funeral mass in the Church of the Sacred heart Donnybrook this morning.
The wife of former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds was described as a woman of deep faith, who provided the best possible life for her family and always had a warm welcome for everyone who came to their family home.
Fr D'Arcy outlined that Kathleen and Albert always had an inseparable bond throughout their lives and how she had played a small but significant role in the peace process:
Fr D'Arcy also recalled that Albert also had to fight off many admirers of Kathleen in the early days of their relationship:
Paddy Cole and Eamon Monaghan, members of the Capitol Showband provided music at the funeral - including a moving performance of 'Stranger On The Shore' and 'Take You Home Kathleen'.
Her daughter Leonie also paid this tribute to her mother:
She is to be laid to rest beside her husband this afternoon at Shaganagah cemetery Dublin.
