A political analyst says Claire Kerrane is in a battle for the last seat in Roscommon-Galway in the general election, ahead of the Sinn Féin selection convention tonight.
The Ballaghaderreen TD will be confirmed as her party's only candidate in the constituency tonight in Hannon's Hotel in Roscommon town.
She took the third seat in the three-seater in 2020, behind Independents Michael Fitzmaurice and Denis Naughten.

And freelance journalist Emmett Corcoran, who writes for the Roscommon People newspaper, says she could take the third seat again this time.
