The Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council is 'disappointed' there is no representation for the county in the Seanad.
Paddy O'Rourke contested the Seanad elections in the Agricultural Panel and missed out on a seat.
The Fianna Fáil politician also unsuccessfully ran in the General Election back in November.
Speaking to Daniela Rana following his defeat in the Seanad, Paddy O'Rourke said the absence of a Leitrim senator will be a notable disadvantage to the county:
