LISTEN: Patricia Shannon on her 25 years as a pioneer, ahead of Carrigallen event

An event is taking place in Carrigallen, Co Leitrim, on Sunday to celebrate 125 years of the Kilmore Diocesan Pioneer Total Abstinence Association.

There will be Mass and the presentation of pins in St Mary's Church at 2pm, followed by dinner in the Kilbracken Arms nearby.

Patricia Shannon from Corlough-Templeport, near the Leitrim-Cavan border, is getting her 25-year pin on Sunday.

She has been telling our reporter Eoghan Murphy about why she became a pioneer.
