The Apple tax money is set to be spent on housing, water and electricity services.

Shannonside politicians have been reacting to the Budget this evening - with mixed views.

It's after the details of Budget 2025 were outlined by Finance Minister Jack Chambers and Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe today.

A 'mansion tax' on homes sold for more than €1.5 million is one of the surprise measures.

The stamp duty on such homes has been hiked to 6 per cent - while motor insurance costs should fall next year after the lifting of an industry levy.

Record budgets for health and social welfare accompany cuts to income tax and USC.

Roscommon-Galway Independent TD Denis Naughten, a member of the Oireachtas social protection committee, has mixed views on the Budget.
