Students at the University of Limerick who were involved in a street party in Castletroy last night could face expulsion.
Three men in their 20s were arrested and over fifty fines have been issued for breaches of the health act.
One of the men has been charged for a public order offence, while the second was released without charge but fined.
The third man, who was arrested in relation to a drugs offence, remains in Garda custody.
The Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris says the gathering was an attack on the national effort to suppress Covid-19.
Ballyleague native Mairead Cleary graduated from UL last August and lived in the Castletroy estate where last night's activities took place.
She says that the footage has made a lot of people angry but there is a mix of opinions among current students.
