A Longford based horse rescue has seen business at its charity shop plummet in the wake of the Longford Fire. Hungry Horse Outside operates across the country from its headquarters in Longford. The charity is primarily an equine rescue and rehabilitation organisation but also sponsor the spaying and neutering of dogs in the Longford Dog Shelter. The group runs a charity shop close to Longford Shopping Centre as a major part of their fundraising efforts.
The Grafton Court Fire on the 28th of July resulted in the shop losing all access to public footfall in the initial aftermath. Access has now been restored to the Court Yard off the Shopping Car park, but according to Hillary Robinson from the charity, footfall has dropped 90 percent.
