High-speed connectivity is on the way for over 2000 premises across the region. National Broadband Ireland announced the project for over 2500 rural zones in Leitrim and Longford. An investment of €46 million will see 1,167 premises in the Bundoran deployment area of Leitrim under construction to have high-speed fibre broadband.
Meanwhile, €34 million is to be spent on the project in Longford, where 1,391 premises in areas surrounding Ballymahon, including the villages of Cashel, Keenagh and Abbeyshrule, will be able to avail of the high-speed connection. The project comes with the Government's National Broadband Plan, which aims to improve connectivity in Ireland's rural areas.
