Longford County Council is urging dog owners to ensure animals are under control at all times following a significant sheep kill in the county.
Five sheep were killed and two had to be put down after an incident in the mid-Longford area in recent days.
The local authority has reminded owners that it is their responsibility to maintain control of dogs and to use a leash while walking.
The council said it was a high-risk time of year for farmers with ewes in lamb over the coming months.
